Healthy Level of Exposure to Permanent Dyes
Instructions
Questions: Is there a healthy level of exposure to permanent hair dyes? Is avoiding these cancerous chemicals possible while experiencing the benefits of permanent hair dye?
Review the Environmental Health Topic (Links to an external site.) from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). Find an interesting topic on the association between environmental exposure to toxics and health effects that are caused by. For a better research paper, construct a specific topic. Explore and include a toxic substance in the environment that causes a specific human health effect. Limit to the human studies. No animal study should be used. Examples of more specific topics are here; ‘Air pollution and health’ is not specific enough. ‘Prenatal exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and asthma development in children in the U.S.’ is a more specific topic. ‘Endocrine disruptors and obesity’ is not specific enough. ‘Dietary exposure to bisphenol A (BPA) in infancy and high blood pressure among young adults’ is a more specific topic. ‘Smoking during pregnancy and birth defects’ is not specific enough. ‘Exposure to DNA adducts in cigarette smoke during pregnancy and the birth defects of newborns’ is more specific. Avoid the topics on the toxic substances (or hazardous factors) that have weak associations between exposure to those substances and health effects. You will have a very difficult time finding reliable sources demonstrating strong evidence.
