DQs 1-4: Strategic Family Therapy Questions

Answer each question with 150 words each and use one scholarly source for each question.

1.  Discuss the role of the therapist and perceptions of the therapist’s responsibility for change when using a strategic family therapy model; consider the therapist’s role in MRI, Milan, Strategic-Haley, and Strategic-Madanes.

2. Choose two strategic interventions, such as paradoxical interventions, you may consider to address issues when working with a family. What are some considerations to be made from the therapist’s point of view? Describe the process of considering these interventions. Discuss and explain.

3. Why is it important for counselors and other behavioral health professionals to become familiar with the use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)? How can use of the DSM’s cross-cutting symptom measures aid counselors in clinical diagnosing?

4.  Define the following assessments and provide an example when each should be used:
