Design Performance Management Process
The purpose of this assignment is to design a performance management process and tools for a virtual team using the concepts learned in this course.
This is a group assignment worth 20% of your grade. The assignment is a written document with a maximum of 10 pages, including appendix but excluding title page, table of contents and references.
Students will work as a virtual team to research a performance management process for the company Nurse Next Door. For this project, consider that your team has been hired by one of Nurse Next Door’s franchise owners to create a performance management program for the owner to use with their employees. Consider that this company operates in a virtual environment with employees working remotely and not side by side with each other in an office environment. What systems processes and tools will you design and recommend to the franchise owner?
Assignment Instructions:
- Describe the organizational strategy of Nurse Next Door. Don’t just cut and paste from the website, do some research, tell us what they do and why, how they are unique in their industry, etc. What is the work culture and environment? What is it like to work there? Refer back to Chapter 3 of the textbook for more information on PM and Strategic Planning. In addition to describing the company strategy, provide some analysis relevant to your task of designing a performance management program. You can do primary (talk to people who work there) or secondary (read about the company) research.
- Design and describe your recommendations to the franchise owner for managing the virtual team’s performance. Ensure your description incorporates the core components of performance management learned in this course and adapted to a virtual setting. These components include setting expectations (chapters 4 and 5), assessing and providing feedback (chapter 6) and development (chapter 8). What tools would you design and/or recommend that the company use?
- Compile a professional document. The total project length, including appendices, is a maximum of 10 pages (excluding cover page, TOC and references). Include the course name, organization, names of all group members and the date due on the cover page. Include appropriate section headers and pagination to make the document easy to navigate for the reader. Beyond that, you are free to choose format, font, spacing, etc., ensuring the paper aligns with the subject. Submit your completed assignment on Learning Hub in MS Word format by the due date.
