  3. Did both the Dollar General and Family Dollar boards appropriately carry out their fiduciary duties to its shareholders with respect to this potential combination?

Group Presentation Assignment

When grading the presentation, I will take into consideration the following:

  • Your ability to effectively communicate your analysis and recommendations;
  • The research and presentation of the choices the company made and the outcome of those choices subsequent to the date the case was written;
  • Your ability to engage the rest of the class in the discussion; and
  • The overall impact of the presentation.

To make your presentation as effective as effective as possible:

  • Make sure your presentation is ready to go (on the screen) before the class begins.
  • Put your name on the first slide.
  • Provide me with a ppt copy of the presentation with the pages numbered and including your speaking notes, by noon on May 24th.
  • Limit the number of slides.  Video clips (not good on zoom) and other interactive media may also be used to illustrate concepts.
  • Make sure you provide sources for videos and other studies / reports sited.
