The film, Gone Girl (Fincher, 2014), is a thriller movie based on a story of failed marriage and suspected a murder case. Amy, a dissatisfied wife, disappears on their anniversary. Her husband, Nick, is suspected of having killed her after three days pass without her getting traced. It, however, turns out Amy is alive, and that she had masterminded her disappearance to make her husband be charged with her murder. The reason for doing this is to punish her husband for the wrongs he has done to her, like cheating with a young girl.

In the film, instances of both good and bad listening habits are evident. Some of the bad listening skills are displayed by characters such as Nick and Margo. Nick shows his lack of empathetic listening skills (Taylor, 2016), when he tries to walk away while Amy is talking to him about the issue of having a baby. Such is an emotional issue, and Nick should have lent Amy his ears. While Ellen is interviewing Tanner, Nick’s lawyer, she sounds very judgemental and seems to have already jumped to….End of Preview….
