Professional Development Plan

Purpose: Professional development is the process of improving and increasing capabilities through education and training opportunities in the workplace, through outside organizations, or through observing others perform their job. PMH-APRNs participate in professional development to learn and apply new knowledge and skills that will improve their clinical performance.

Directions: For this assignment, complete and submit the  Professional Development Plan

The form will walk you through the following steps:

  1. Identify specific areas/competencies you would like to enhance or improve.
  2. Identify your strengths and talents.
  3. Identify weaknesses you would like to neutralize.
  4. Identify development opportunities (What knowledge or skills do you need to enhance)?
  5. Develop 1 short-term goal (by end of the semester) & 1 long-term goal (1-year post-graduation).
  6. Identify specific actions you can take to achieve these goals.
  7. Identify the support needed and/or barriers to overcome.
