Well-structured Relation Normalization Notion
How is the notion of normalization related to all of this?
READ THE BELOW STATEMENT, AND ANSWER THE ABOVE QUESTION ( MINIMUM OF 150 WORDS)
Question A: Well-structured Relation
A well-structured relation is one which contains the minimum/limited amounts of redundancy, and it is also one that will allow the users to insert, do some modifications and even delete rows without inconsistencies or errors. The above aspects are required to be done in a database and any relations need to allow such aspects to be done and this is what defines well-structured relations (Harman, 2016). The importance of these relations when it comes to logical database design is that it is associated with promoting integrity in the databases.
Question B: Important properties of relations
Relations have important properties and one of them is that values are atomic. In the column, all the values have the same type of data. The other property is that every row is unique and this is all that means sequence of the columns is not significant. The other property is that the values of the column are of the same category (Mishra, 2021). In this property, the values of the column do not have to be different and they need to be the same. The other two properties are that the sequence of columns is insignificant and the same applies to the sequence of the rows in the database. The other important property is that every column has a unique name that identifies it.
