Wk 1 Discussion – Effective Thinking
What does it mean to think effectually?
Thinking effectually is a problem solving technique used by human beings by saying the future is unpredictable fundamentally but it can be controlled through the actions of the people. The future can also be controlled by the constructible environment through choice and the goal is negotiated through the commitments of stakeholders rather than the pre-existed preference ordering.
How is it different from thinking causally?
Causal thinking has a planned goal which is set according to available resources and means in order to attain the goal faster, at minimum cost and within the most efficient way as possible. In other hand, effectual thinking is a method used my entrepreneurs when starting new ventures using their own means like what I know, whom I know and who I am.
When is it important for an entrepreneur to think effectually? Provide an example of your own effectual thinking.
It’s important for the entrepreneur to think effectually because it will help those who don’t have specific objectives within their plans to create successful ventures. This helps entrepreneurs in exploring different prospects. An example of my own effectual thinking is when I start cooking using a recipe and gather the available ingredients and make a meal according to whats available
