Wood Fired Pizza Ovens for Restaurants

Project on Methods and Procedures Involved in Recruitment

Introduction

An oven is a fully enclosed, insulated chamber that is used to heat food. There are several types of ovens that vary in appearance and function, efficiency, and their fuel source. Examples of types of ovens include electric ovens, gas ovens, built-In, double, microwave, and brick ovens (Turabi et.al, 2010). The company will be interested in selling wood fired pizza ovens to restaurants both domestically and internationally. Currently, the company sells ovens in the domestic markets and seeks to expand abroad. The major clients for the company are restaurants like SeaBlue Restaurant & Wine Bar, St. Francis Winery & Vineya, and Fearrington House Restaurant in the USA among many other existing restaurants(Turabi et.al, 2010). Market research shows that demand for ovens in restaurants is progressively high and increasing at a consistent rate, and the supply for the ovens is small. This gap needs to be fixed. The company manufactures wood fired ovens and would seek to increase the number of ovens sold and delivered to the customers (Machen, 2009). The value proposition of the company is to recruit, train and develop a new workforce so as to improve the quality product innovativeness and effectiveness in service delivery.

Designing and Organizing the Sales Force

Operational sales force helps managers project and respond to unit staffing needs, deploy staff and organize work, manage organizational culture and workplace relationships, and anticipate and manage risks (Breagh, 2008). The company needs to determine sales force size and allocate the sales force efforts to market segments and products. In the current plan, the company needs 200 salespeople, in the expansion plan the company forecast 300 reps, and in the case of a reduction in the market size, the company’s plan is to recruit 150 employees in the sales department. The company seeks to hire 200 qualified permanent sales personnel irrespective of the market demand, and in case the demand for ovens increases, the company will have to outsource skilled sales workers from other similar firms.
