The conquest of the earth, which mostly means the taking it away from those who have a different complexion or slightly flatter noses than ourselves, is not a pretty thing when you look into it too much.

Assignment:

To what extent should we embrace the perspective(s) on globalization reflected in the source?; address the following:

• Analyze the source to demonstrate an understanding of the perspective(s) on globalization reflected in the source
• Establish and argue a position in response to the question presented
• Support your position and arguments by using evidence from your knowledge and understanding of social studies

How the assignment must be written:

• Historical globalization and the legacies that are connected to this contact and eventual development of relationships are dark chapters of our history.
• Examine source in 1st paragraph then end with a position on the source… do you agree, to what extent… or not at all
• Paragraphs 2-4 need to be three parts 1) evidence (case study) something we have studied in class to prove your thesis 2) tie back to the source (embrace the question and why (or why not) 3) defence … therefore the source cannot be accurate because… defend your argument…
• Concluding statement… (paragraph) come back to the source, agree or disagree and why…
