This quiz is a short answer question exam covering all readings, class discussion and lectures from Chapters 1-3. Questions are focused ensuring your knowledge, synthesis, and application of the variety of theories and perspectives covered and their implications to organizational communication. Responses to each question should be a minimum of 50 words.
Answer all five (5) of the following questions. Create a word document (with your name!) include the questions and email to me by MIDNIGHT on Thursday 5/28. No exceptions. Students are expected to provide proper APA citations – both in-paper – (author’s name, year) after a direct quote, paraphrase, statistic or graph, as well as a works cited page.
- What are some of the most compelling intercultural communication challenges that will have to be managed over the next 50 years? Why?
- Why is it said that much of culture is invisible? Explain and provide examples.
- What are some of the cultural differences in the perception and treatment of the elderly? Explain and provide examples.
- Why do you believe families in the United States have experienced so many changes in the last two decades? What are these changes and do you perceive them as positive or negative?
- Do you believe that mass media and social networking will make alterations to gender roles in the next ten years? Why or why not and how?
