Patrick:

My name is Patrick and I am currently stationed up in North Dakota with the Air Force, working as a diesel mechanic. I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and have many great experiences during my career, many which lead to me pursuing a M.S. in Occupational Safety and Health with a concentration in Environmental Science. This is my last class for my degree and I have greatly enjoyed entire journey, the information has been very relevant and I have applied much more information to my job/personal life than I expected. My future goals is to finish out my degree, finish out my career and retire from the Air Force and then ranch (raise cows), I currently operate a small operation. I know things change rapidly in life so just seeing how everything goes and enjoying the ride.

I have been able to implement a lot of information from this degree to my job and personal life. Working as a diesel mechanic we work with a lot of different pollution sources, a lot of hazardous materials which in turn generates a lot of hazardous waste. I think the thing I want to take away from this class the most is obtaining knowledge and being able to share that knowledge with my coworkers. In North Dakota many people do not take pollution prevention to seriously, usually just dumping trash and other materials somewhere on their property, which then the wind will blow it all over the place. I have realized even the smallest effort towards pollution prevention has a large impact. I am excited about this class and even more excited to complete my degree, it has gone quick
