Individual paper

1. Choose two questions from the following:

  • Explain in detail how external factors affect the company’s structure. (25%)
  • Explain in detail how HRM could support managers’ activities via an operational, a tactical and a strategic perspective in the company. (25%)
  • Explain in detail how leadership style can vary from one situation to another. (25%)
  • Explain in detail the role of team culture in the development of corporate social responsibility policies. (25%)

2. Select a local or a global business in your country that has failed in continuing its business due to the pandemic. Start by exploring the global economic and political environment and changing trends in which the business was supposed to operate. Continue your analysis by discussing the main reasons that led to the failure and bankruptcy/closing of the business. Use organisational setting, management, and strategic plans, HRM, motivation and leadership as frameworks. And finally discuss whether the failure was primarily due to the pandemic or more of a management/organisational related issue. (50%)

Formalities:

  • Each paper will be 2000-2200 max words,
  • Harvard referencing method should be used and quotations shall not make more than 5% of the total paper.
  • Each paper shall have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion followed by a list of references

Weight: This task is worth 60% of your overall grade for this subject.
