Crime versus Tort Law Discussion

Most crimes involve torts, but the commission of a tort is not always a crime. Discuss

For non-legal experts, the link between a tort and a crime is difficult to comprehend. A crime is a reprehensive act considered to be wrong against societal values, enforced by the state, and whose consequences result to imprisonment, fine, or both (Las Vegas Informer, 2014). A tort is a civil action in which an individual brings a suit of personal nature against another. Here, the government is not a party and the judgement imposes damages but not jail terms.
