Assignment 2: Overview
Part 1: MBTI inventory
The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self-report inventory Links to an external site designed to identify a person’s personality type, strengths, and preferences. The MBTI inventory is one of the world’s most widely-used psychological instruments.
You are required to complete the MBTI inventory in this module, as it contributes to your self-awareness of who you are as an individual and an aspiring educational leader. After completing the MBTI inventory, you will receive a personality score, denoted by an abbreviation (e.g. “ENTJ”) in which each letter stands for an aspect of your personality (i.e. Extroverted, iNtuitive, Thinking, Judging). As a future leader, your awareness of personality differences can contribute to you developing and leading successful teams. By recognizing individual differences, the group can better assign tasks and work together on achieving the organization’s goals.
- Remember the assessment is about your preference. There are no correct answers.
- Do not overthink your response. As there are no correct answers, your response should be natural and not forced.
- Not every question will have an answer appropriate to you. In this case, select the best answer for you.
Part 2: Learning Journal
A learning journal is a steadily-growing document that you write to record the progress of your learning. Organize your learning journal with a section for each module of the course. This assignment will be submitted using the template provided. Download using the template provided.The template allows you to give each week in your journal a personal title which can reflect your learning from the module.
When writing learning or reflective journals, you need to write in both the first and the third person. Use first person (‘I’) to provide your own reflections about what you are learning or have learned, its personal impact on you, and how you would apply theories, concepts, and skills being considered in the module. Use third person (people’s names, he/she/they and words like counsellors, an individual, etc.) when discussing the theories or research of authors you discuss in your journal.
