EVT60904 Event and Tourism Risk Management
Learning outcome assessed:
- MLO3 : Recognize the nature of risk and the risk factor to events and tourism.
- MLO5 : Analyze the process of risk management in relation to event planning and tourism management.
- MLO6 : Analyze risk management plans by organization.
CASE ANALYSIS
Students are required to choose ONE recent case study (latest of 5 years from 2019) and highlight the risk issue of that scenario. The chosen case must be related to events and tourism issue and it can be based on the newspaper, online article, journal or video. The information of case analysis must be prepared by using Powerpoint and present during class. Students are required to support their presentation slides by using the below criteria:
1. Details /background of the issue
2. Relevant info of the risk issues (photo, video, newspaper cutting, etc.)
3. Risk identification and causes
- Explain in details how does the identified item pose a risk? What are it’s causes?
- State logical reasons as to why this item has become risky?
- What is the action taken by the organization?
4. Risk control
- How would you avoid /isolate, minimize or transfer those risk?
- Provide a justification and recommendation
5. Conclusion
