Course:

  1. Critically appreciate early Canadian history though a critical examination of a variety of historical sources (reading history)
  2. Personally interpret and communicate historical problems in early Canadian history (writing history). These are skills developed in writing essays (up to 2,000 words), comparative book reviews, library, on-line and field research exercises, and a two-hour final examination

Specific:

  1. Demonstrate mastery of course content – Pre-confederation Canada
  2. Demonstrate ability to write an argumentative essay
  3. Demonstrate ability to use Chicago Style
