This paper is to have a title and reference page. All in paper and final citations are to be done according to APA 7 formatting. All references should be from your texts in this class or your Birkman personal insights.

Introduction: Heading 1

Briefly describe Cameron and Green’s four useful metaphors of organizations for change and the models that you may consider for your change (chap.3). This should have at least 2 references.

You will be looking at a suggested change in an organization that you are a part of/were a part of. This should be a situation where you are in some form of a leadership position. This can be past or present or near future.

1. Describe the original situation before the change in detail.

  • · What is your position in what company or organization?
  • · Who are those over you and/or under you looking for leadership?
  • · What problems are you facing?
  • · Who is making the final decisions about the change?
  • · What is your say in the change?

2. Describe the case for change by:

  • · What problems would be fixed by the change?
  • · What does the change entail?
  • · Who would be losing what through the change?
  • · Who would be gaining what through the change?

3. Describe the forces for change and against change

  • What are who are the forces for change?
  • What and who are the forces against change?
  • What is your plan to increase the forces for change and lower the forces against change?

4. Describe the change itself by:

  • · What will happen to your organization or company with the change?
  • · What will happen to you?

4. Describe how you will manage or suggest managing the “endings” (Bridges chapter 3: at least one reference)

5. Describe how you will manage or suggest managing the “neutral zone” (Bridges chapter 4: at least one reference)

6. Describe how you will manage or suggest managing the “new beginning” (Bridges chapter 5: at least one reference)

7. State how using at least one of the four metaphors (chapter 4 Cameron and Green: at least two references) will help your leadership change effort.

Your paper should be 5-6 pages, double-spaced, use the APA style for citations, and should include any references that you use. Use the MS Word template titled “APA_Essay_Template.doc” located under the Writing & APA resources link.

How do I submit my paper?

Save your file in the Microsoft Word format. Please name your file in the following way, First Name <space> Last Name <space> Paper (for example, Ann Smith xxx Paper.docx), because it makes the marking process more efficient.
