Self-Motivation:

Personal goals to help you stay focused and motivated.

  • Remember, you want to create SMART goals – Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Time-based. Don’t just say I want to start a business. You want to say – I want to start an online business coaching business focused on women leaders within the next four months.

Research and discuss clubs or groups that you can join to help with your venture.

  • Search in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Slack for possible groups. You could conduct a Google search for a local club or group.

Describe a morning routine to help you stay focused on your venture.

  • You may start your day with 10 minutes of meditation and move on to 30 minutes of walking. Go into detail for the first three hours that you are awake.

Discuss hobbies and rewards that can help you stay focused and motivated.

  • Provide examples of your hobbies and how they can be used to help you stay motivated. You may play the piano to help you zone out and find peace.
  • How are you going to reward yourself for accomplishments within your venture? Your reward could be as simple as going to the beach for two hours to soak up sun. Discuss what is rewarding to you. 

Be sure to include information on obtaining a mentor to help you stay motivated. Describe what you would look for in a mentor and how you would go about searching for a mentor.

Motivating Others:

Describe how you would set expectations for employees, contractors, and vendors/suppliers.

  • How are you expecting employees to behave while representing the organization? You may share phone and face-to-face customer service.
  • Discuss your expectations from contractors and vendors/suppliers who work with you. You may expect

Discuss your process for modeling the behaviors you want to see within your venture.

  • Continue to expand on the expectations by discussing how you are following the same expectations for others. You may allow employees to shadow you on a meeting. What are you going to do show that you are holding yourself to the same standards?
