Personal Philosophy of Nursing Assignment

Purpose:

The purpose of this paper is to provide the student with an opportunity to demonstrate analytical thinking and scholarly writing skills in developing a personal philosophy of nursing based on caring science.

In addition to a title and reference pages, a minimum of two references from a caring science-based nurse theorist or theorists is needed in the body of the paper. Correct APA format is required. The use of first person, or I , is acceptable when describing own beliefs.

Philosophy: Describes own beliefs in relation to nursing, person, health, environment (the nursing metaparadigm), and caring, while applying a selected holistic, caring science-based nurse theories as a guide.

Synthesis: Based on your philosophy, identify two nursing interventions that you plan to embrace in your daily nursing practice.

APA/Grammar: This includes spelling, grammar, and punctuation.  DO NOT use first or second person. APA scholarly writing insists on the use of third person only. The paper should be a minimum of four pages with proper references, including citations in the body of the text with appropriately cited examples from article utilizing APA format to illustrate understanding of topic. Do not use more than one direct quote. Instead: Learn to paraphrase, then cite the author  and year in parentheses. Please provide a concluding paragraph to the overall paper. Notes: *There are many APA tools to assist you in the “APA Bootcamp” tab in Canvas. *The article you chose needs to be downloaded from FAU libraries in its entirety (not just the abstract) and attached as a document, in addition to the actual paper, when submitting this assignment.
