Personality Based News Sources

Personality Based News Sources

Part-1

Since the advent of mass media long ago, news outlets have always strived to use established news personalities while broadcasting news to the masses in an effort to use the personality appeals of those journalists to reach to as many people as possible. However, in the last two decades, especially after the advent of social media, the reliability of news sources and personalities has come into question as news outlets and personalities scramble to be the first to feed their audiences with information. Some of the news delivered by elements of both fringe and established media has been proven to be partial, inaccurate or downright fake. As people continue moving away from traditional news sources to alternative sources such as social media blogs, personality-based postings and others, there is a need for these sources to be called into account every time they post news that is partially or completely non-factual. People also need to be made aware of how to disseminate fake from factual news and how to out sources of unreliable and fake news.

My favorite news source is Foreign Affairs magazine. It is a bi-monthly paper which gives in-depth and intelligent analysis and narrations of what is going on in the rest of the world. Many Americans are often ignorant of world affairs and I find this magazine as a refreshing source of international news (Ahmed, 2019). The contributing journalists are partial, informed and scoop their information from sources who are reliable and neutral.

Part-2

Jennifer Valoppi was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and earned her media credentials through working first as a weathercaster, investigative journalism and news anchor before later becoming a television creator and producer. In the course of her career, she won several accolades and awards including City of Miami Commission on the Status of Women, a honor on the floor of the Congress and was a finalist in the Diane Von Furstenberg’s Most Iconic Women awards.

Jennifer’s impact on public emanates from her reputation as a journalist who goes beyond her mandate to dig deeper into a news source and bring information that is factual. This has earned her a reputation of bringing news that is both reliable and factual. Her zeal in getting to the truth of a news story saw her help free a man who was wrongly facing the gallows during her days as an investigative journalist. This professional trait helped her earn a reputation as a person who is constantly in pursuit of the truth while looking for news scoops (Stevens, 2021). She comes out as a person who is reliable to give factual information. In an era where Americans are increasingly getting more hardline on both liberal and conservative sides of societal and political divide, she comes out as a more neutral and less polarizing news figure whose news can be disseminated by audiences from both sides of the societal divide.

Though less involved in news casting these days, Jennifer runs several blogs and online magazine contributions and is currently undertaking a makeover project to redo a Miami beachfront house once owned by Pablo Escobar. Her audience consists of left, right and center leaning people who are prefer news and information that is unbiased, uplifting and helpful. Her blogs and postings are read by both young and old since her appeal runs across the entire age spectrum.
