For each of your activities please analyze the reading and source (found under the reading itself) and write a minimum of 3 pages using a minimum of three academic sources (not including your Globalyceum reading), 1 inch margins double spaced. Be sure to deliberate and really analyze the issue in your short paper
Activity: Texas Taxes: Who Pays: Assume that you would like to make Texas a less regressive tax state. Using the information in these sources and the information in the background propose a re-shuffling of the tax system that would make Texas less regressive. Now compare Texas to another state of your choosing and compare their method of taxation?
Research and discuss how Texas’s redistricted after the last two census (after census 2010 and census 2000)? How has redistricting affected representation of Texans? Discuss and provide examples of cracking and packing districts in Texas? What has the U.S. Supreme court said about redistricting? What are the issues right now in Texas concerning redistricting, 2021? How does our 2021 redistricting in TX impact communities of interest? The Black community? The Latino community? And finally, how is redistricting different this year than past years?
