Overview:
This chapter explains the selection process for the purpose of finding the best employee that improves productivity and is suited for the organization, along with abiding by the environmental factors that impact the process. The chapter emphasizes that while appropriate screening methods are necessary through application, tests, interviews, and background checks, environmental factors such as legal considerations, speed of decision making, organizational hierarchy, applicant pool, type of organization, probationary period, organizational fit, and selection technology are important to the process. How screening tools are used, types of selection tests, types of interviews, interviewing biases, and metrics in evaluating the selection decision are the highlights.

Essay
As an HR manager, how would you prepare to conduct an employment interview? What is the difference between structured, unstructured, and behavioral interviews?
The assignment is to answer the question provided above in essay form. This is to be in narrative form and should be as thorough as possible. Bullet points should not to be used. The paper should be at least 1.5 – 2 pages in length, Times New Roman 12-pt font, double-spaced, 1 inch margins and utilizing at least one outside scholarly or professional source related to human resource management. The textbook should also be utilized. Do not insert excess line spacing. APA formatting and citation should be used.
