Writing an Industry Analysis Report
Section #1
Paper’s Introduction (LN)
Include the purpose statement and preview statement (list the key sections and include both company names – use the level one headings) from the report. As a team, you should discuss which information the team wants to include in the introduction. Do this section after you write the paper’s content (middle) sections.
Section #2 (remove this from your paper – leave one blank line)
Industry Overview (LN) (use the name of the industry in the heading)
To begin this section of the report, you must have an introductory lead-in sentence explaining the section (level two headings break down the section). Do not have two headings back-to-back because this is an improper format.
Industry Background
Define the industry, products, or services and the number of businesses in it (comment on growth or not). Name the companies with the largest market share in descending order, no more than five. Add a concluding sentence to the paragraph. Add any information you wish.
Industry Financials [financial databases required] [last three years]
Include the following information for this section.
- Total annual revenue and gross profit – explain what caused the revenue to fluctuate
- Annual growth of the industry (revenue and growth are different)
- Employment figures
COVID-19 Influences
- Comment on the impact COVID-19 has/had industry-wide.
