This unit’s reading highlights the major laws that address common employment law issues.

Select three of the following employment law Acts and write a succinct essay that demonstrates how each law impacts business operations.

  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA)
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FLMA)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Act (administered by OSHA)
  • Social Security Act
  • Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)

Describe each law you have selected, including reasons why the law became necessary, then identify what you perceive as the advantages and the disadvantages of each law to a business.

Support your opinions with at least three peer reviewed or professional legal or business journal articles in addition to the text.

Personal experience examples from your employment may be used to illustrate important concepts.

Requirements:
