Vulnerable Populations and Health Problem Paper

In your paper, identify the population or problem of interest and how it relates to community health nursing and the Healthy People 2020 goals. Address community health needs of the population or problem, health goals, and interventions that could be used to reach health goals. You may also address special considerations related to the population of interest, such as cultural influences, access to health care, etc. Please include a discussion on what the bias is towards this group as well as evidence-based tactics to overcome it. The following outline should be used to write your paper.

Select a special population to complete a paper on. Use your text and instructor as a resource to determine an appropriate special population, some examples of special populations include:

4. How population and problems incurred by population relate to one or more healthy people 2020 goals
5. Purpose of your paper

7. Expansion on community nursing interventions aimed at population or problem (the focus is not on hospital interventions)
8. Include considerations specific to your population of interest.
9. Include a plan for evaluation – how would you measure progress towards the interventions AND goals
10. A discussion on bias towards the population or problem and interventions to overcome the bias is provided.

6. Paper should be free of grammatical errors. Appropriate sentence structure and paragraph structure is used. Remember, paragraphs should present information in a logical manner and be approximately 5-7 sentences in length. Papers should be approximately 2 -3 pages in length (not including title and reference page).

9. 3 credible resources other than text to complete paper.
10. References MUST come from nursing journals
11. Sources current (no older than 5 years)
12. Reference page in APA format
13. All references cited in APA format throughout the paper
14. No plagiarism (Students are required to submit the paper to SafeAssign prior to submitting to the

assignment dropbox. The matching must be less than 15%)

Students must use at least 5 credible resources to complete this paper and are encouraged to use nursing research when possible. Research from health related disciplines may be utilized if appropriate. At least three of the five resources must be from nursing journals.

Students are to use APA format when completing the paper.
